Well as you read in my last post Britton and I were supposed to be engaging in a 2v2 basketball game with two of our friends Lamarr and Trevor. Well i am very disappointed to say that we did not get 2 partake in this. When we arrived to the park there was no one there. So we shot around for a few minutes and soon people started to arrive. We ended up having about 8 people show up to play. We all decided to play a game of 32 to warm up.
For those of you who don't know what that is it is a game of basketball where every man is for himself. The objective of the game is to score 32 points before everyone else. You have your standard two point shot, anything inside the 3 point arc, and then anything outside the arc we count as 4 points. We also play with tips. A tip is when someone shoots the ball, misses, and then as another person jumps to get the rebound but as they do they attempt to put the shot back in the rim without coming back down and touching the ground. if you are tipped with 1 hand by someone twice then you you are "out'' of the game. Unless, u catch an air ball then u can return. If you are tipped with two hands by someone your points are taken away. This game can become very long due to these rules.
As we proceeded to play 32 people were getting tipped left and right since we had 8 people playing. If you've never played, getting up to 28 points then getting tipped and seeing all you hard work go down is not very fun. But all u can do is hold your head up and keep playing. So we kept playing and I got back up 24. But that wasn't enough. Trevor had 30 already. before i knew it he was checking the ball for game and shooting the 3. 32 was over.
Now its time to play a real game. We shot up for captains and picked teams. I was on the opposite team of Trevor of course. We got ball first. We in bounded the ball and i brought it up. Trevor was playing back on me so i pulled the 3. Sink. As the game went on we dominated the whole time. They weren't playing much defense. We were getting easy cuts to the basket and making our lay ups. We were up 15-12. It was there ball. Trevor was bringing the ball up court and said " I'm about to take over." He came up to the top of the key and Britton and I went up for a double team. Trevor started to go into an in and out crossover. Britton got a hand on the ball and got the steal. We were on a fast break two on one. Britton drove right side I was on the left he hit me with a dime behind the back and I finished with a finer roll. Game over. After the game we challenged Trevor and Lamarr to our two on two game. Trevor wouldn't play. So I'm hoping sometime soon i will b able to tell u about how fun it was beating them.
