The Hype

Competition has always been a very large part of my life. Whether its me competing against the social pyramid, my peers, or me competing in sports, I am constantly competing with something. Within the past week I have apparently gotten into a really competitive situation with 2 of my friends over a game of basketball. It all started with my friend Britton's Facebook status which was about his leg injuries restraining him from playing basketball on the first somewhat warm day in months. My friend Lamarr got on his status and "shit-talked" him saying his injuries were fake and that he was being a "pussy". Britton, also being a competitive person, challenged Lamarr to a 1 vs. 1 game saying he could beat Lamarr injured or uninjured. Shortly after that challenge was made another friend of ours by the name of Trevor commented saying that Britton should bring me and that we definitely didn't want to play them 2v2. He went as far as to compare himself to DeMarcus Cousins and compared Lamarr to John Wall. Historically Trevor and I have an unspoken rivalry. Always playing against each other in pick up games at the park and thing of that nature, so of course I accepted the challenge. Trevor being the cocky bastard he is, wouldnt stop there. He has tried antagonizing me and Britton about the game since the challenge was made. After about 4 days of trash talk we finally get to play the 2v2 tomorrow after class and we will see who the best is. For now, Ill let Trevor believe he can win, cause in actuality his dreams are the only place he'll ever beat me...
